What makes it different
Poachd works from demonstrated capability, experience, location and availability instead of relying solely on job titles, CVs and conventional recruitment channels.

Why we built it

One observation started this: experienced data centre electricians are being approached three or four times a year, usually by whoever got their number first rather than by the project that needed them most.

That tells you two things. The capability is scarce enough that companies will compete hard for it, and the market has no reliable way to see it. People who can do the work are found by accident, through a mate or a phone list, while programmes commit to dates on the assumption that the crew will exist. Poachd makes the capability itself visible, so companies can find the right people deliberately and the people on the tools get approached for work worth taking.

How we work

  • Free for tradespeople, permanently. The people whose capability makes the network valuable should never pay to be in it.
  • Private by default. Capability and region are visible; names, employers and contact details are not, until the person chooses to open a conversation.
  • Capability over credentials theatre. We record what someone has actually worked on, not how well they write about themselves.
  • No guarantees we cannot keep. We do not promise hiring outcomes, and we do not dress modelled figures up as live data.
  • Plain trade language. If it would not survive being said out loud on site, it does not belong in our copy.

Where we operate

Australia first - Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia, with the heaviest activity around Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
