For companies

Find the technical people your competitors are fighting over

You do not have a resume problem. You have a discovery problem: the people who can actually do critical technical work are already employed, are not applying for anything, and will only move for the right approach. Poachd lets you search that capability directly and approach it yourself.

Free for tradespeople, permanently. Companies pay for access and on a confirmed placement.

Search by what actually decides the work

Six filters, none of which is a job title.
  • Capability and licence class: what the person is licensed and authorised to do, in which jurisdiction and on whose network.
  • Systems experience: the switchgear, UPS platforms, protection schemes, plant classes and test regimes they have actually worked on.
  • Industry background, including the adjacent industries - utilities, mining, rail, fabs - that build the same discipline.
  • Region and mobility: where they are based, how far they travel daily, and whether they will fly in, camp or relocate.
  • Availability: when their current commitment ends and the roster they will accept.
  • Level: whether they run the work, supervise it, or do it.

How access works

  • Search limited previews for free. Before you commit to a date, you can see whether the capability exists in that corridor at all.
  • Unlock the Passports worth pursuing. You get the detail you need to make a decision, and the person is told a company is interested.
  • Approach directly. There is no agency between you, and nobody is paid a commission to talk a candidate up.
  • The person decides whether to open the conversation. Interest is mutual by design, which is why the response rates are worth having.
  • Outcomes are recorded, so your team can see what has already been approached and the network learns where capability is genuinely thin.

How this differs from what you use now

Agencies, labour hire, job boards and CV databases are four different products. Capability discovery is a fifth.

A recruitment agency

An agency owns the relationship and sells you a shortlist. Poachd gives you the search itself: you look at capability directly and approach people yourself, and nobody is on a commission to push a candidate.

A labour hire company

Labour hire supplies and employs the worker. Poachd does not employ anyone or on-hire workers - the hiring company holds the engagement, the obligations and the relationship.

A job board

A job board waits for people who are looking. The technical people who decide whether a project gets energised are already working, so Poachd is built around discovering them rather than advertising to them.

A CV database

A CV describes a job title and a date range. A capability profile records the systems someone has actually worked on, the licences they hold, where they can work and when - the things that decide whether they can do the work.

What we will not claim

  • We do not guarantee hiring outcomes. We make capability visible and put you in front of it; the conversation is still yours to win.
  • We do not employ or on-hire anyone. You hold the engagement and the obligations that come with it.
  • Rate and coverage figures on this site are modelled from published award, union and industry benchmarks, and are labelled as such. They are calibration, not quotes.

Search by capability

  • Electricians - Licensed electrical workers installing, terminating, testing and energising power systems on critical infrastructure projects.
  • Electrical supervisors - Leading hands, site supervisors and electrical leads who run crews, sequence electrical work and carry the quality and safety load on site.
  • Instrumentation and controls - Technicians who install, terminate, calibrate and prove the control and monitoring systems that make plant behave predictably.
  • HVAC and mechanical - Mechanical trades installing, connecting and commissioning the air and water systems that keep critical plant within temperature.
  • Refrigeration - Licensed refrigeration trades working on chillers, heat rejection and refrigerant systems that critical facilities depend on.
  • Fitters - Mechanical fitters who install, align, maintain and repair rotating and static plant to tolerance.
  • Boilermakers and welders - Fabrication and welding trades producing and repairing structural and pressure work to a qualified procedure.
  • Technicians and commissioning - Test, commissioning and specialist technicians who prove that installed systems perform the way the design says they will.

Search by industry

  • Data centres - Hyperscale and colocation campuses need licensed electrical, mechanical and commissioning capability in volume, on fixed energisation dates.
  • Electrical infrastructure - Substations, grid connections, protection and HV systems depend on a small licensed pool whose work cannot be substituted.
  • Construction - Major construction programmes are increasingly constrained by trade capability rather than by design, funding or approvals.
  • Infrastructure - Water, transport, tunnels and public assets need technical trades who can work inside live systems and strict approval regimes.
  • Energy - Generation, transmission, storage and renewables are all building at once, drawing on the same licensed electrical and mechanical capability.
  • Rail - Rail systems work needs technical trades who can hold rail-specific competencies and work inside possession windows.
  • Mining and resources - Resources sites need maintenance and shutdown-hardened technical trades who will work a roster in remote conditions.
